Hi - I just clicked on something on Facebook, and got a notice that my system has been infected with some viruses. I clicked "Start Protection", which gives me a window that says, "You have chosen to open setup.exe, and MS - DOS Executable. Now Firefox wants to know what to do with it, asking if I want to "Save the file", or "Open with" and asks me to Choose an application.
This is my first encounter with this, and I don't know if it's fake or real, and if real I don't know which application to choose. If you know, can you email me directly at aimari@[Protected] asap?
Thank you sooooo much!
Marianne

Marianne -
I'm going to send this directly to you but also copy the list, so that we can compare notes.
I would do nothing. I believe what you saw on Facebook was an advertisement - or perhaps a link to another page which has the ad. Facebook, as a web site/service, for all practical purposes, has no way to scan your computer for virsuses (virii?). And the setup.exe is a Windows program which, if run on a Windows machine, might put in a faux virus protection software that is really spyware or something else ugly.
