ASHMUG Discussion Archives

No, actually, *this* is an example of an inappropriate email....

Good morning, Linda.

Thank you for this lovely and kind email. Got my day off to a great
start....

I follow the Ashmug threads as best I can. I am not retired, however,
thus, unfortunately, I have to work. But of course I'm lazy too, so
really, it *is* unforgivable when someone like me doesn't bother to
either keep up or come to a meeting and then just mouths off
inappropriately like this with such a stupid question.

I can't believe I didn't understand that asking for a member's contact
info privately - who has publicly announced they are available for
tutorials and just done an ashmug presentation on said subject - is
now considered enough of a "no-no" to publicly reprimand and embarrass
someone. What could I have been thinking? Thank you for setting me
straight....

I thought I had understood from reading the threads (as best I could -
I *am* inefficient and lazy, I realize) that "inappropriate use" of
the list was overly chatty off-Mac-topic stuff - and/or replying to a
single person via the entire list on a private matter not of interest
to other users.......

But no worries, Linda. I will be resigning from the list, and I won't
be coming to another meeting again either. So you can rest easy within
your orderly boundaries.

I believe this is a much better example of an "inappropriate" message,
don't you?

whew....scary stuff here. As a new member i am a little surprised at

the rigidity of the posting process that doesn't allow for direct

communication that is copied to all? (i.e. Maggie's email to Riley)

Not sure if i ever received a memo as to what is appropriate or

inappropriate, but since we aren't getting hundreds of emails and

since i can easily delete a thread that i am not interested in or

isn't relevant to me, i would propose that things be more 'chillin'

and accepting ....this list is about apples and macs! aren't we the

guy in the jeans not the suit?
